Bridging the Past with the Future

Text Box: Driving Directions:  All tour locations are numbered and reference on the map.  Directions will assume that you start from the Smith Cabin in Elkton, located at 7102 Elkton Pike (Highway 31), however you may start from any home location and go at your own pace.  You will be asked to show your ticket upon entering each tour home.
Cabin #1: Smith Log Cabin—This 19th century reconstructed cabin sits at the junction of US 31 and TN-273E (Bryson Road) in Elkton. Light Refreshments and Tickets will be available at this official starting point. 
Cabin #2: Brown-Gaultney Log Cabin. From the Smith Cabin head east on 273, follow for 3.5 miles to Bryson, veer left staying on Bunker Hill Road, turn left at next road, Newman Hollow Road.  Go 1.4 miles and watch for signs.  NOTE:  Shuttle service provided to this remote site, which is the birth place of a former TN governor, John C. Brown.  While waiting, visit the Bethany Presbyterian Cemetery, where John C. Brown’s parents are buried.  There will be interpreters at both locations to tell the history of these historic sites.
Cabin #3:  Riggs Log Home. From the Brown-Gaultney cabin, turn east onto  Newman Hollow Rd. and continue 1.4 miles.  Turn right on Bunker Hill-Bryson Rd. and go 0.3 miles. At Bryson turn left onto Dellrose Rd-Highway 273 E, go approx. 1.6 miles. Watch for signs.
Cabin #4:  Coulter Log Home.  From Riggs Log Home, go right approx. 1.6 miles to Bryson, turn left and follow Hwy 273 to Hwy 31.  Turn left and head southeast on Elkton Pike/US 31. Follow US 31S for 3.7 miles.  Turn right at Pleasant Hill Rd., go approx. 0.5 miles and turn right at Valley Lane (becomes Pleasant Hill Rd). Continue on Pleasant Hill Road approximately 0.6 mile.  Watch for signs.
Cabin # 5:  Barber Log Cabin.  Directions from Elkton:  at the Elkton Methodist Church, turn onto Hwy 273-Prospect-Elkton Road and travel approx. 6.8 miles.  Turn left on Veto Rd and go approximately 2.1 miles  Turn left onto Cave Branch Road and go approx. 1 mile.  Watch for signs.
